Thursday 25th June – Windsurf ****U* The Dip at Felixstowe – sunny and hot.

Foil – 19.03 knot max, 18.06 knot ave., 10.75 knot hour, 16.41 knot mile, 54.63 km., 13.36 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Tushingham Bolt 5.75.

Today’s forecast looked brilliant, wall to wall sunshine with 20 knot breeze from the NE and 25 degrees so I didn’t join Mag on her early morning walk. With low water at The Dip around 3 I was in no hurry but still got up early to do my exercises in the back garden before it got too hot! Mag and I then had breakfast in the back garden and with the wind pushing 20 knots and the tide dropping I couldn’t sit at home any longer so drove down to The Dip as two wingers were about to go out with 4 and 5m wings so after taking a few pics I decided to rig my 5.75 before putting my shortie on as more people arrived, in fact it was a fairly busy day on the water with loads taking advantage of the good condition, maybe 10 kitesurfers, a couple of windsurf foilers plus several wingers and fin sailors:) Launching just after midday I was flying straight off the beach and could have probably got away with my 5m but stuck with the 5.75 which I love and did 20 miles by doing mile runs out to sea where the sea was pretty big but gybing by the beach was nice as it smoothed off. I then had a snack break taking a few more pics as more fin sailors arrived, I seemed to have eased a little and people were rigging 7m plus sails but I decided to have another hour pushing my distance sailed to 34 miles and increasing my top speed. So a 5 star session with the The Dip definitely delivering today :)
